Description:
Sigma Software is seeking a WordPress Developer to join their team in Kyiv, Ukraine, with the option for remote work.
The company has over 2000 specialists and operates in 17 countries, focusing on creating superior software solutions for over 20 years.
The role involves developing turn-key solutions on WordPress CMS, including creative landing pages and corporate websites, as well as technical assignments related to WordPress plugins and applications.
Responsibilities include coding, developing integration tests, debugging, documenting, implementing, and maintaining software portions.
The developer will promote good design principles such as code reuse, modularity, and extensibility.
The role requires assisting test engineers and support personnel in resolving technical issues related to software installation and operation.
The developer will perform code reviews to ensure compliance with engineering practices, coding standards, and quality criteria.
Continuous participation in technical risk identification and analysis is expected, along with notifying the Project Manager of new risks and suggesting mitigation strategies.
The developer will report status and progress according to project and company demands and contribute to the creation of technical specifications.
Participation in estimation and planning sessions is also part of the role.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress CMS, including themes, plugins development, and customization.
A strong knowledge of popular WordPress plugins and practices, including cache, security, and e-commerce, is required.
Solid experience with MySQL (MariaDB) and popular web server configurations (Apache, nginx) is necessary.
Good knowledge of Docker and the Linux ecosystem is essential.
The ability to identify and fix performance issues through profiling and analysis is required.
Experience with Git and GitFlow is mandatory.
Understanding of CI/CD concepts, such as Jenkins and CircleCI, is necessary.
An intermediate level of spoken and written English is required.
Additional skills in front-end development (HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Vue.js) and knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID principles would be a plus.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services is also considered advantageous.
