Description:

  • Intersog® is seeking a WordPress Developer to assist in building websites from concept to completion.
  • The role involves creating everything from the home page to site layout and function.
  • This position is remote and self-paced, allowing work from anywhere with a good Internet connection.
  • The ideal candidate should be able to commit at least 20 hours per week, with potential for full-time work.
  • Responsibilities include writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code using best software development practices.
  • The developer will create website layouts and user interfaces using standard HTML/CSS practices.
  • They will design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins.
  • The role also involves maintaining and optimizing the performance of existing WordPress websites.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging WordPress issues remotely is part of the job.
  • Regular maintenance tasks and security updates will be performed remotely.
  • Collaboration with designers and stakeholders to ensure website functionality and usability is essential.
  • The developer will research and stay updated on new WordPress features and best practices.
  • Monitoring plugin updates, WordPress updates, and overall site performance is required.
  • Gathering and refining specifications and requirements based on technical needs is part of the role.
  • Cooperation with web designers to match visual design intent is necessary.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 3+ years of experience working with WordPress and the ability to code a WordPress site from start to finish.
  • Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS are required.
  • Knowledge of PHP, jQuery, MySQL, and Google Webmaster Tools is necessary.
  • Candidates must know how to set up SSL certificates.
  • Proven working experience in web programming is essential.
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and best development practices, is required.
  • A BS in computer science or a related field is necessary.
  • Experience with SEO techniques is a bonus.
