Description:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to manage the ongoing maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting of our WordPress websites.
This role focuses on keeping existing sites running smoothly, securely, and efficiently rather than building new websites from scratch.
Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining existing WordPress websites, developing and optimizing responsive designs for various devices, and performing regular updates of WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
The developer will troubleshoot and fix site issues, ensure backups and security patches are maintained, optimize websites for speed and performance, and provide technical support for internal teams or clients.
Documentation of fixes and maintenance of a change log is also required.
This is a part-time contract position with the potential to become permanent in the future.

Requirements:

Candidates must have solid experience working with WordPress, including core, themes, and plugins.
Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required.
Familiarity with cPanel, FTP, and common hosting environments is necessary.
Experience with security and backup tools such as Wordfence and UpdraftPlus is essential.
The ability to troubleshoot plugin conflicts and resolve website errors is a must.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving are important.
Candidates should be comfortable working independently and responding quickly to issues.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with staging environments and version control (e.g., Git), knowledge of SEO basics and best practices, familiarity with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery, and basic knowledge of Google Analytics, Tag Manager, or Search Console.

Competitive compensation rates are provided, with an hourly rate range of $45/hr to $60/hr CAD based on skills, experience, and geographical market rates.
