Description:

As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for building infrastructure to create new features, improving existing code, squashing bugs, and helping to rapidly scale the platform.
You will triage bugs and small enhancements that come into GitHub.
Your role includes scoping, writing, and testing new product features and addons.
You will refactor legacy code with a focus on backwards compatibility.
Providing feedback and peer review for other developers through GitHub PRs is part of your responsibilities.
You will communicate with the team and support your peers using chat, audio, and video.
You are expected to take initiative and see tasks through from conception to completion, owning features and tasks.
You will work on tasks of all sizes, from small bug fixes to large features and rewrites.

Requirements:

You must have professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards.
Advanced proficiency with PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices such as OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, and interfaces is required.
Strong familiarity with JavaScript, including vanilla JS, jQuery, and ES6 is necessary.
You should be able to use and extend build tools like gulp and webpack.
Familiarity with package managers such as Composer and NPM is required.
Experience working with third-party APIs like Stripe, Drip, and Zapier is essential.
Competence with version control through git and GitHub is necessary.
You must have exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to keep complex ideas and features simple.
Previous freelance or remote work experience is required.
A personal computer with internet access is necessary.
You should be available to participate in audio/video meetings between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm EST.
