Remote WordPress Engineer

Description:

• The WordPress Engineer position at LawnStarter involves developing custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch, ensuring responsiveness and optimal performance across various devices and browsers.
• Responsibilities also include customizing and extending existing WordPress themes and plugins, collaborating with designers and developers to translate project requirements into functional websites, and conducting code reviews.
• The role requires optimizing WordPress sites for high speed and SEO performance, troubleshooting and debugging issues, and staying updated with the latest trends in WordPress development, web performance optimization, and SEO techniques.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
• Proven experience as a WordPress Developer or Engineer with a strong portfolio showcasing WordPress projects is necessary.
• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL, along with a solid understanding of web development principles and best practices, is essential.
• Extensive experience in WordPress theme and plugin development, including creating custom themes and plugins from scratch, is a must.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques and SEO best practices is required.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks/libraries like React.js, Vue.js, or AngularJS is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and self-motivation are important for this role.
