• Zipdev is currently seeking a Web Developer with expertise in WordPress and Shopify to create and maintain custom themes, optimize web applications, and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• The ideal candidate excels in front-end development, solving technical challenges, and managing multiple projects.
• Strong communication, time management, and proficiency in remote collaboration tools are essential for success.
• Responsibilities include working on multiple client projects for various teams, developing new user-facing features, and building reusable code and libraries for future use.
• The developer will ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• They will develop and maintain both WordPress and Shopify themes within best practices and utilize proficient knowledge of custom Shopify theme development and Liquid templating language.
• The role requires coding pages as close to “pixel perfect” as possible and collaborating with other team members and stakeholders.
• The developer will take ownership of projects and optimization, communicate clearly and openly with all team members, and utilize creative problem-solving to provide solutions and explanations for challenges.
• Additional responsibilities include developing and building out responsive emails and email templates, managing project tasks, timelines, and communication, and performing routine site maintenance as needed.
• Soft skills required include strong communication skills, especially in a remote environment, availability for a daily internal team standup, reliability in completing tasks on time, and proficiency in using tools and systems such as Accelo, Slack, Figma, and Google Drive.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3+ years of relevant work experience as a front-end developer.
• An advanced understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3, is required.
• Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS, is necessary.
• Candidates should have a proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
• Proficiency in WordPress theme development, database management, error handling, Custom Post Types, and Advanced Custom Fields is essential.
• A proficient knowledge of custom Shopify theme development and the Liquid templating language is required.
• Experience building custom designs with page builders like Elementor and Webflow is necessary.
• A good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX is required.
• Proficient knowledge of task runners like Gulp and Grunt is necessary.
• A basic understanding of PHP and MySQL is required.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools for cropping, resizing, or performing small adjustments on images is necessary.
• Candidates must have a proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, is required.
• A good understanding of technical SEO principles and ensuring adherence in applications is necessary.
• Experience using third-party APIs for dynamic integrations is required.
• A basic understanding of back-end services/servers and persistent storage is necessary.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like React and Angular is a plus.
