Remote AI Engineer

Description:

• Join JoVE as an AI Engineer to build retrieval, matching, and LLM systems for AI research products.
• Own features from prototype to production, collaborating with product teams and science editors.

Requirements:

• 4+ years in software or ML engineering, with 2+ years in LLM, search, or NLP production.
• Strong Python skills and solid software engineering practices (testing, code review, CI/CD).
• Hands-on experience with RAG systems, hybrid retrieval, and prompt design.
• Familiarity with vector/search engines (Elasticsearch, Milvus, etc.) and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face).
• Experience in building offline evaluations and using metrics for decision-making.
• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS), Docker, and API design.
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-engineers, including scientists.
