Methods is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to enhance public sector services in the UK.
The role involves effective business acumen and understanding of cyber security challenges faced by clients, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders across departments.
Responsibilities include managing, delivering, and leading cyber security and cyber risk assignments, producing documentation, reports, recommendations, and quality assurance of team outputs.
The candidate will act as a subject matter expert, supporting a team and managing larger teams in delivering engagements at scale.
The role requires maintaining awareness of key business and industry trends and their impact on cyber risk responses.
The architect will research, articulate, and pitch complex security advice at both business and technical levels, justifying design decisions to key customer stakeholders.
Responsibilities also include developing vision, principles, and strategy for security architects, providing trusted advice to clients, investigating major security breaches, and contributing to the development of information security policies and guidelines.
The position requires being a point of escalation for lower-grade architects and leading the technical design of systems and services.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a background in Cyber Security with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Information Security-related positions.
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in security architecture is required.
Certification in AWS or Azure for Architecture and Security or similar is essential.
Candidates must hold IASME / Cyber Essentials Plus Certification.
Knowledge of secure network architecture and technical design is necessary.
Experience in creating secure architecture in AWS and/or Azure is required.
Candidates should provide expert strategy, risk, and technical advice on cyber security for both ongoing and planned projects.
A broad range of cyber and information security skills, knowledge, and experience is essential, including understanding security threats and vulnerabilities.
Candidates must be able to conduct gap analysis for specific domains and identify missing cybersecurity capabilities.
Knowledge of threat modeling and experience working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team is required.
Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills are necessary.
A proactive approach to personal and professional development is expected.
Candidates must hold or be able to obtain an HMG Security Check (SC) clearance.
Knowledge of IT/IS infrastructure and the ability to use security access control tools is required.
Proficiency in cloud/virtualization principles and experience in writing Cyber Security documents is essential.
