Remote Product Engineer, Backend

Description:

• Radar is seeking Backend Product Engineers to enhance the core Radar platform, which handles 1 billion API calls per day.
• The position can be based in the NYC headquarters or be remote within the US.
• The engineering team consists mainly of former technical co-founders or interns from prestigious schools.
• Engineers at Radar may specialize in one stack or be "Multi-Stack," working across various technologies including Mobile and Data engineering.

• Weekly planning meetings are held in small groups, and projects are managed by an Engineering lead, an executive, and a Go-to-Market lead.

• The tech stack includes a Node.js TypeScript API layer, a Rust-based geospatial database called HorizonDB, MongoDB, S3/Athena, Redis, and Airflow, all deployed on AWS via Kubernetes.
• Most engineers participate in an on-call rotation.
• The hiring process includes a call with the CTO, followed by technical interviews and a final round at the NYC HQ.

Requirements:

• Candidates should consider themselves generalist engineers, not limited to a specific technology stack.
• A strong interest in customer interaction and a commitment to making customers successful is essential.
• Candidates must possess a deep curiosity about technology and the determination to solve complex problems.
• Bonus points for candidates who are former technical co-founders, have experience with high throughput SaaS applications, or have worked on geospatial infrastructure.
