Description:

Lead, hire, and develop a team of QA Engineers, conducting regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
Act as the senior quality owner for ongoing releases, tracking progress and ensuring accountability for QA commitments.
Own the QA strategy and ensure alignment with engineering and business objectives.
Oversee the QA release process, enforcing quality gates and sign-off conditions.
Serve as the escalation point for complex defects and quality risks.
Drive the automation roadmap and integrate CI/CD to reduce manual regression efforts.
Participate in roadmap discussions and build a culture of shift-left testing.
Coordinate QA planning for major releases and evaluate emerging QA tools.
Own QA process documentation and communicate updates to engineering teams.

Requirements:

10+ years in QA, with 2-3 years in a lead or senior role with people-management responsibility.
Hands-on experience in active releases, tracking delivery commitments and removing blockers.
Deep understanding of release governance and managing quality risk across multiple releases.
Strong technical skills in manual testing, API/backend testing, and automation.
Proven experience in root cause analysis and connecting quality risks to process improvements.
Strong data instincts and ability to present quality metrics to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborative leadership style and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Good-to-have: ISTQB certification, experience with distributed teams, background in conversational AI, and GitLab CI/CD practices.
