Description:

Remotebase is seeking experienced Rust Developers for part-time engagements with fast-growing product companies.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining high-performance backend and systems software, including services, APIs, and infrastructure tooling.

Requirements:

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years in production Rust.
Deep understanding of Rust concepts such as ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, and generics.
Strong experience with async Rust (Tokio, futures).
Experience in building and running backend services or systems software in production.
Proficient in concurrency, memory management, and performance profiling.
Familiar with testing in Rust and CI/CD practices.
Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Redis).
Knowledge of Docker, Linux, and at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Strong written and spoken English skills.
Reliable availability of 20 hours/week with 4 hours of overlap with US timezone.
