The Senior Data Engineer role is a hands-on technical leadership position responsible for designing and building the core systems of the data platform.
The engineer will tackle complex challenges, from high-level architectural design to implementation, while mentoring the team and influencing the long-term vision.
Responsibilities include designing and developing key components of the data platform, taking ownership of project estimation and execution, improving existing codebases, collaborating with various teams, writing high-quality code, leading complex projects, mentoring other engineers, and maintaining high standards for code quality and documentation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong track record of building and delivering significant components of a data platform and data ingestion pipelines.
Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data systems and contributing to key technical decisions is required.
Hands-on experience with real-time/event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub), data warehousing/modeling, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) is essential.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for managing production-grade data infrastructure is necessary.
A team-first attitude is important, with a passion for mentoring others and sharing knowledge.
Experience in building platform capabilities that enable self-service, real-time analytics, data governance, or machine learning is preferred.
