Remote Senior full stack engineer (contractor)

Description:

• We are looking for a founding engineer who wants to build, ship, and scale with us.
• You will be one of our first engineers, working directly with the founders to deliver the core product.
• The role involves taking on meaningful ownership across the stack, including React/Next.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
• You will help us move fast while keeping our systems solid and secure.
• As part of a small, focused team (currently under five people), this role will have a direct impact on product direction, architecture, and early engineering culture.
• You will collaborate closely with product and design to build intuitive, reliable interfaces and AI-driven workflows that genuinely help people.
• Responsibilities include owning major features end-to-end, building across the stack, using metrics and user feedback to refine what we build, influencing architecture and engineering practices, and keeping security and ethics front and center.

Requirements:

• You should have approximately 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software.
• You must be fluent in React/Next.js, React Native, Python, and PostgreSQL, or be able to ramp up quickly.
• We are looking for an “A-player” builder who loves solving problems, not just following specs.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their use in day-to-day tasks to enhance productivity is required.
• You should balance speed and quality, knowing when to ship and when to refactor.
• Comfort in working within a small, fast-moving team where priorities evolve but the direction is clear is essential.
• You must be available for live Zoom calls during business hours to enable rapid iterations and learning.
• A strong commitment to doing the right thing for users, especially regarding their health or privacy, is necessary.
