NXTKey Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
This is a full-time position located onsite at the NIH-NCBI in Bethesda, MD, with an option for some remote work.
The role involves designing and deploying high-performance networks, particularly focusing on modernizing legacy infrastructure.
Candidates should have expertise with Arista EOS and CloudVision, and be passionate about driving innovation in network architecture.
Responsibilities include architecting and deploying network architectures, managing F5 BIG-IP platforms, and automating network management using Python.
The engineer will act as a technical leader, mentor team members, and provide expert support for complex network issues.
The position also involves implementing load balancing strategies, managing network hardware lifecycle, and monitoring network traffic for proactive management.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering.
A CCIE or similar advanced networking certification is preferred.
Strong experience with Arista EOS/CloudVision and F5 BIG-IP is required.
Expertise in networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, and EVPN is necessary.
Proficiency in Python scripting and network automation is essential.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are required.
