Remote Senior Network Engineer

Description:

• NXTKey Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
• This is a full-time position located onsite at the NIH-NCBI in Bethesda, MD, with an option for some remote work.
• The role involves designing and deploying high-performance networks, particularly focusing on modernizing legacy infrastructure.
• Candidates should have expertise with Arista EOS and CloudVision, and be passionate about driving innovation in network architecture.
• Responsibilities include architecting and deploying network architectures, managing F5 BIG-IP platforms, and automating network management using Python.
• The engineer will act as a technical leader, mentor team members, and provide expert support for complex network issues.
• The position also involves implementing load balancing strategies, managing network hardware lifecycle, and monitoring network traffic for proactive management.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering.
• A CCIE or similar advanced networking certification is preferred.
• Strong experience with Arista EOS/CloudVision and F5 BIG-IP is required.
• Expertise in networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, and EVPN is necessary.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and network automation is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are required.
