As a Senior Applied AI Engineer, you will shape Vanta’s AI offerings, set technical strategy, and lead projects that leverage AI for smarter outcomes.
You will be part of the core AI team, collaborating with product engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, designers, and security experts.
Your role involves building products that help customers leverage AI to accelerate compliance, manage risk, and earn trust.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing AI-powered features, integrating LLMs with existing products, and improving quality through evaluations and monitoring.
You will collaborate with AI Platform engineers to shape foundational AI systems and mentor other engineers while promoting a high-ownership engineering culture.

Requirements:

You must have at least 7 years of industry experience as a software engineer.
Experience in shipping LLM-backed products and familiarity with prompting, RAG, and/or agent frameworks is required.
You should have experience in designing, building, and scaling full-stack applications, including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces, with familiarity in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
Experience in improving AI systems, creating evaluation sets, and driving quality improvements is necessary.
You should have a background in mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design teams.
Experience working in rapidly scaling startups and large companies is preferred, especially in action-oriented environments.
You must be action-driven, willing to engage directly with users, and prioritize building user-centric platforms.
