Breuninger is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the FIND team, focusing on search technologies to enhance product discovery for customers.
The role involves designing, planning, and developing customer-centric features for the Search Engine of the E-Commerce & Multichannel platform.
You will take responsibility for the entire development process in an agile environment, from architecture design to continuous deployments and maintenance.
The position requires active ownership of your code and services, making technical decisions in collaboration with stakeholders, and defining quality and performance standards.
You will assess and evaluate the effort of complex features, balancing technical excellence with business impact.
The role includes proactively building knowledge in search technologies within the team and supporting team members in their technical development.
The team operates remotely across Germany and meets regularly for team and domain days.

Requirements:

You must have extensive experience in developing high-performance, flexible search solutions using Apache Solr, Querqy, or similar technologies, with a willingness to learn the Solr-based stack.
Experience in implementing vector-based search systems and familiarity with language models for query interpretation is required.
Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or functional programming language, preferably Java or Kotlin, is necessary.
You should have experience with modern web frameworks such as SpringBoot, Rails, or Laravel.
Familiarity with MongoDB and/or other NoSQL databases, AWS, and Docker container technologies is essential.
Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are required, along with a willingness to mentor and coach team members.
A curiosity for new technologies and the ability to quickly adapt to new topics is important.
Good German language skills at least at B2 level are required.
