Description:

  • GiveDirectly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build systems that facilitate cash transfers to people in poverty.
  • The role is fully remote, requiring availability for meetings in the East Africa timezone.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend architecture, databases, and cloud services.
  • Proficiency in strongly-typed, object-oriented programming (Java, C#, Go) and scripting languages (Python, Ruby).
  • Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and a proactive approach to improving systems.
  • Bonus: Experience with Python, AWS, payments/financial software, and microservice/serverless architecture.
