Remote Senior / Staff Software Engineer, ML-based Controls

Description:

• Design and develop ML-based approaches for vehicle control problems.
• Create learned models of vehicle behavior and integrate them into simulations.
• Enhance controller adaptability across various vehicles and conditions using ML.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enable safe self-driving technology.
• Manage projects from conceptualization to on-vehicle validation.
• Build data pipelines and evaluation metrics to compare learned approaches with classical methods.
• Engage in technical discussions to integrate learning and classical control in safety-critical systems.

Requirements:

• MS/PhD or Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience in Robotics, Controls, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of control theory and dynamic systems (e.g., MPC, optimal control).
• Experience applying machine learning to physical systems with real hardware.
• Proficient in Python and C++, with experience in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch.
• Solid problem-solving skills in linear algebra, optimization, and statistics.
• Ability to prototype and test algorithms effectively.
• Collaborative team player with a passion for self-driving technologies.
