As a Software Engineer (Backend Rust), you will lead the development of core backend components for the blockchain network, focusing on networking, reliability, and scalability.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and coding core backend software components primarily in Rust.
You will leverage your extensive experience to ensure the creation, testing, debugging, and deployment of production-grade components.
The role involves maintaining and enhancing high-quality software engineering practices within a prominent open-source project.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
You must have experience in designing, testing, and implementing scalable backend systems.
Proficiency in a low-level programming language such as Rust, C, C++, or Zig is necessary.
Experience in systems programming is essential, with strong signals including experience writing compilers, operating systems, kernels, or machine simulators.
You should have a track record of writing correct, reliable software and must have deployed software changes used by people.
The ideal candidate is a creative, independent, and collaborative team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Active participation in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Blockchain projects, or the open-source community is highly desirable.
Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time position is between $120k and $260k, reflecting the minimum and typical maximum target for new hires based in New York.
The salary range may be higher for exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience.
Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills demonstrated during interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training.
