Description:

OpenAI is seeking a Software Engineer for the Host Assurance team to build and operate services, APIs, and host software that establish trust in compute infrastructure.
The role involves owning production software from design to operation, supporting capabilities like machine identity, certificate issuance, and host attestation.

Requirements:

Strong software engineering experience in building and operating reliable production systems at scale.
Depth in distributed systems, backend or platform engineering, operating systems, or infrastructure security; experience with PKI, HSMs, and secure boot is valuable but not required.
Ability to reason across services, APIs, and host software, and learn relevant trust mechanisms.
Experience writing production quality code and supporting critical production systems.
Self-directed, low ego, and willing to collaborate across disciplines.
