Remote Software Engineer Level III

Description:

• Capital Technology Group (CTG) is seeking a Software Engineer Level III to support high-impact civic tech within the federal government.
• The role involves designing and implementing prototypes and proof-of-concepts for evaluating new or emerging technologies.
• Responsibilities include analyzing benefits and risks of implementing solutions, providing development support for new technologies, and collaborating with other teams to build functional systems that enhance customer experience.
• Applicants must be US Citizens and able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Candidates must have 9+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or related languages is necessary.
• Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries, as well as back-end languages and JavaScript frameworks, is essential.
• Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), web servers (e.g., Apache, Jenkins), and UI/UX design is required.
• Candidates must be able to quickly adapt to new projects and technologies.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Leadership and people management experience is required, along with the ability to provide direction to less senior team members.
• A demonstrated interest in learning new systems and technology quickly is necessary.
• Ability to discuss technical tasks and team processes with team members and external stakeholders is required.

Nice to Have Skills:

• A background in Python is preferred.
• An interest in DevOps is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD, AWS, and Docker/Kubernetes is beneficial.
