As a Sr Ruby on Rails Developer, you will build and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby and the Rails framework.
You will implement server-side logic, develop RESTful APIs, and manage background jobs.
The role involves designing and maintaining database schemas, optimizing queries, and working with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
You will connect applications with third-party APIs and integrate front-end components with backend processes.
Implementing automated testing (RSpec, Minitest), participating in code reviews, and ensuring code quality will be part of your responsibilities.
You will identify and resolve bugs, bottlenecks, and performance issues.
Collaboration with designers, product managers, and engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments is expected.
Optionally, you may support CI/CD pipelines and deployments using AWS, Heroku, or similar platforms.

Requirements:

Strong proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, including MVC, ORM, and RESTful design is required.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, along with schema design, is necessary.
Basic knowledge of front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 for integration purposes is expected.
Proficiency with Git and version control best practices is essential.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
Effective communication and the ability to work in remote, cross-functional teams are necessary.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience is required.

This is a remote role, open to candidates anywhere in Mexico.
The position operates under a contractor scheme.
