Remote Sr. Software Engineer, Android - Fandango

Description:

• Fandango is seeking a Senior Android Software Engineer to join the Video Player team, focusing on Android video playback technologies and the Video Player SDK.
• This role supports high-quality streaming experiences for millions of users and involves collaboration with engineers across platforms.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience, with strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience with Media3 and/or ExoPlayer, including DASH and/or HLS streaming and Widevine DRM.
• Strong understanding of video playback concepts, streaming protocols, and performance optimization.
• Experience building reliable, reusable platform components or SDKs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and document decisions clearly.
• Bonus points for experience with analytics, video instrumentation, and CI/CD pipelines.
