Description:
- Fandango is seeking a Senior Android Software Engineer to join the Video Player team, focusing on Android video playback technologies and the Video Player SDK.
- This role supports high-quality streaming experiences for millions of users and involves collaboration with engineers across platforms.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional Android development experience, with strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Experience with Media3 and/or ExoPlayer, including DASH and/or HLS streaming and Widevine DRM.
- Strong understanding of video playback concepts, streaming protocols, and performance optimization.
- Experience building reliable, reusable platform components or SDKs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and document decisions clearly.
- Adaptability to evolving product needs and emerging streaming technologies.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ownership of complex technical problems.
- Bonus: Experience with analytics, QoE metrics, video instrumentation, and CI/CD pipelines.
