Remote Staff Backend Engineer, Database Automation (Go)

Description:

• Join GitLab as a Staff Backend Engineer in the Database Excellence group to build and evolve database automation and PostgreSQL as a service capabilities.
• Use Go to automate the full lifecycle of PostgreSQL, enhancing safety, consistency, and scalability for high-throughput services.

Requirements:

• Professional experience with PostgreSQL in large production environments and building database-as-a-service products.
• Proficiency in Go, including backend service design, implementation, and testing.
• Experience with Kubernetes operators or similar automation for stateful services is preferred.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and core database operations concepts.
