Description:

  • Temporal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Identity to design, build, and operate the identity and access platform for Temporal Cloud, a multi-tenant SaaS.
  • Responsibilities include authenticating users and workloads, authorizing access, federating with customer IdPs, and ensuring secure operations in collaboration with Security, Product, and platform teams.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with production identity systems (OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML, JWT/JOSE, SCIM) and workload identity.
  • Strong knowledge of authorization at scale (RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC) and familiarity with policy engines.
  • Proven track record in operating latency-sensitive distributed systems and proficiency in Go; knowledge of Python, Java, or Kotlin is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to align stakeholders and drive execution.
