Join the team redefining how the world experiences design at Canva.
The role is remote across Australia and New Zealand, with options to work from the Sydney or Melbourne campuses or co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.
Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of a new frontend telemetry SDK, shaping the technical direction of frontend telemetry, and collaborating with various stakeholders to improve product quality.
You will build intuitive frontend experiences that surface telemetry insights, drive a company-wide rollout of the new SDK, and partner with the Reliability Platform team to enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities.
The position involves fostering a network of measurement-focused experts and acting as a technical leader by mentoring engineers and influencing cross-group architecture.
The ideal candidate is a deeply technical frontend engineer passionate about enabling product teams to learn faster and deliver quality at scale.

Requirements:

Candidates should have deep expertise in browser-based frontend telemetry, including real user monitoring and error reporting systems.
Experience in designing and evolving systems that provide actionable insights for engineers and senior leadership is required.
A track record of mentoring and providing technical guidance across teams with a collaborative approach is essential.
The ability to drive strategic technical direction while balancing big-picture vision with implementation details is necessary.
Confidence in leading technical presentations and discussions to engage a wide range of stakeholders is expected.
Proactive collaboration and mentorship skills, along with a focus on impact and data-driven decision-making, are crucial.
