Description:

  • Serve as technical lead for the Speech function at Rad AI, setting direction and mentoring engineers.
  • Partner with Research Scientists to transition speech models from evaluation to production.
  • Build and evolve real-time audio capture and streaming in a React/TypeScript web application.
  • Design and operate distributed Python backend services for the speech platform.
  • Improve production reliability and performance using modern observability tools.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, and Customer Success to deliver features in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in developing audio or multimedia software.
  • Strong full-stack skills in TypeScript/React and Python.
  • Experience with browser audio APIs and real-time audio streaming.
  • Proficient in WebSockets and real-time client-server communication.
  • Experience in building and operating distributed systems.
  • Ability to debug production issues using observability tools.
  • Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Strong testing practices and experience with distributed teams.
