Remote Tech Lead Software Engineer

Description:

• As a Tech Lead Software Engineer at Pismo, you will lead a team responsible for building, evolving, and operating Pismo’s core data platform capabilities, including both batch and streaming data services.
• Your mission is to ensure that data services are reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient, enabling internal teams and partners to deliver high-quality data products at scale.
• You will combine people leadership, technical direction, and cross-functional collaboration to drive platform excellence, balancing roadmap delivery with operational stability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Key responsibilities include leading and growing a high-performing team, owning the data platform roadmap and execution, building and operating reliable data services, driving quality, governance, and efficiency, and collaborating across the organization.
• This position is remote, meaning job duties do not need to be performed within proximity of a Visa office location.

Requirements:

• You must have 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• You must be based in Brazil.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and fostering healthy team dynamics is preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are required, with the ability to translate business needs into technical priorities.
• A strong software engineering background in building distributed systems and data-intensive platforms at scale is necessary.
• Solid experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and modern platform/hybrid architectures is required.
• Strong knowledge of streaming and/or event-driven architectures and production-grade data processing is preferred.
• Strong SQL skills and experience enabling analytical and operational workloads are necessary.
• Proficiency in English at a professional working level (typically B2+ or equivalent) is required.
