Canonical is hiring engineers to work across its Ubuntu Engineering organization, focusing on quality, performance, and resilience in software.
Engineers will be involved in designing, engineering, packaging, integrating, testing, and shipping open source software from the Ubuntu repositories.
The four key teams within Ubuntu are Foundations, Server, Desktop, and Debcrafters, each focusing on different aspects of the operating system.
Engineers will have the opportunity to work on development, architecture, packaging, automation, and distro engineering.

Requirements:

Candidates must have an exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a STEM field is required, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path.
A demonstrated passion for open source software is essential.
Significant experience with programming languages such as Rust, Go, Python, Flutter, or C/C++ is required.
Professional written and spoken English skills are necessary.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Candidates should be able to travel twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
