Remote Active Directory / Entra ID Solutions Architect/Engineer

Description:

• New Era Technology is seeking an experienced Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID Architect/Engineer to join their team.
• The candidate must have a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining complex, large-scale, and global identity directory services environments.
• This is a 5-month remote opportunity.
• Responsibilities include conducting high-level project design and creating project charters.
• The role involves reviewing global directory services disaster recovery plans for gaps and defining next steps.
• The candidate will engineer, deploy, operationalize, maintain, and support tools associated with AD & Entra ID.
• They will contribute to the engineering and support of AD & Entra ID as needed.
• The position requires communicating service enhancements and operational efficiency directions, features, and roadmaps aligned to the roadmap.
• Providing technical leadership to others with less knowledge or experience is essential.
• The candidate will liaise with, train, and support operational teams.
• They will assist in technology evaluations and guide proof of concepts.
• Participation in solution design discussions and architecting global AD domain consolidation projects is required.

Requirements:

• The candidate must be a senior and experienced AD and Entra ID Architect with 5-7 years of large, global enterprise experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in directory services Architect/Engineer is required.
• A good understanding of AD / Entra ID Security is necessary.
• Extensive experience in supporting and troubleshooting on-prem Active Directory services (Authentication, DFS, GPO, LDAP) is required.
• The candidate must have a good understanding of AD security, vulnerabilities, and common safeguards.
• Specific understanding of Tier-0 security and identifying its security boundaries is essential.
• Experience or enhanced understanding of consolidating a large enterprise AD forest is required.
• Familiarity with AWS EC2 and Azure environments to build and support services is necessary.
• An enhanced understanding of recovering Active Directory in a disaster recovery situation is required.
• Experience performing POC testing and driving deployment of AD service-related tools is necessary.
• The candidate must have the ability to work with application owners to troubleshoot AD service and integration issues.
• Strong documentation skills to author, review, and edit technical documents at an Engineering and Operational level are required.
• The ability to conduct knowledge transfer sessions to Engineering and Operations is essential.
• The candidate should seek and recommend improvements on existing AD architecture and provide recommendations to improve IT systems.
• Experience in creating Identity and Access Management (IAM) roadmaps for global directory services is required.
• Understanding of modern authentication methods (OIDC, SAML, Kerberos, etc.) is necessary.
• Knowledge of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC), and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) is required.
• Experience with privileged access management for administering directory services is necessary.
• The candidate should have experience developing solution and system architecture.
• Understanding of the use of machine learning (and exposure to AI) for technology evaluations and enhancements is required.
• Leadership experience in managing a project from start to finish is essential.
