Description:
We are looking for an AWS Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team.
Kyivstar.Tech is a Ukrainian hybrid IT company and a subsidiary of Kyivstar, one of Ukraine's largest telecom operators.
Our mission is to create technological solutions and products that unleash the potential of businesses and meet users' needs.
The role involves developing ETL flows based on AWS stack technology, including EC2, S3, Redshift/Spectrum, Glue, Athena, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
You will participate in efforts to design, build, and develop rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) solutions and services.
As a key team member, you will be involved in the design and development of the product team.
You will participate in sprint planning meetings and provide estimations on technical implementation.
Collaboration with other engineering team members is essential to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms.
Responsibilities include reviewing functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for data processing flows and data models.
You will also build and maintain reporting, models, and dashboards.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of technical expertise in database development, including designing and building database solutions such as tables, stored procedures, forms, and queries.
Strong business intelligence knowledge with a deep understanding of data structure and data models to design and tune BI solutions.
At least 3 years of experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, Redshift/Spectrum, Glue, Athena, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
Familiarity with software DevOps CI/CD tools, such as Git, Jenkins, Linux, and Shell Script.
Understanding of Spark, Hive, Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Airflow.
Experience in software engineering and development, with a solid understanding of database schema design.
Advanced data analytics skills, specifically in designing and building solutions using AWS technologies.
Knowledge of data formats and the differences between them.
Experience with the Hadoop stack, RDBMS, and/or NoSQL databases.
Proficiency in Kafka and programming languages such as Java, Scala, and/or Python.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git or Bitbucket.
Experience with BI tools, particularly PowerBI.
A background in test-driven development, automated testing, and other software engineering best practices, including performance and security.
Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes paradigms.
Upper-intermediate English proficiency is required.
Related AWS certifications are a plus.
