Description:
The Backend Developer (Support Services) position at Substrakt involves maintaining the sites and products for their client base, which currently consists of over 80 clients.
The successful candidate will ensure that the sites and products are kept to the same standards and quality as their initial launch.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, triaging, and responding to client tickets promptly to keep clients informed.
Estimating tickets and providing advice to Support and Solutions Managers will be part of the role.
Adherence to internal Best Practices such as code reviews, clean and well-documented code, and local environment management is essential.
The candidate will primarily work with PHP for backend development and should have experience with VueJS.
Other technologies involved are Javascript, including vanilla Javascript and some jQuery, Hosting/Infrastructure management using Heroku & AWS services, relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, API's (Rest and SOAP), Git for version control, and efficient problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate would also have experience in AWS, an interest in the arts and culture sector, and experience working in an agency environment.
Requirements:
Excellent working knowledge of PHP, including Object Oriented PHP, Test Driven Development with PHP Unit, and Dependency management with Composer.
Knowledge of Javascript and Javascript Frameworks, particularly VueJS.
Excellent knowledge of Hosting/Infrastructure management using Heroku & AWS services, provisioned via Terraform.
Strong understanding of Relational databases, primarily MySQL and some PostgreSQL.
Experience with API's (Rest and SOAP) and Git for version control.
Ability to help teams work efficiently and produce high-quality work to keep clients satisfied.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret client requirements to create solutions.
Comfortable with regular context switching required for client support.
