Remote Backend System Developer

Description:

• The Backend System Developer will be responsible for implementing and contributing to designs for the new conversational tech stack.
• They will also work on the design of services that facilitate the conversational tech stack.
• The role involves contributing to team discussions on engineering standards and best practices.
• Ensuring that engineering implementations meet the team’s technical standards and best practices is a key responsibility.
• The developer will upskill on new technologies and contribute to discussions and decisions on their adoption within the Rori tech stack.
• Acting as technical support for the systems is also part of the role.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in databases, application hosting, software engineering, and system security.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Python-based development and deployment, preferably using FastAPI and Django.
• At least 2 years of experience with API development, testing, and deployment, preferably at scale.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with architecture design for backend systems.
• At least 1 year of experience with microservice architecture development and deployment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with CI/CD and modern deployment and monitoring practices, preferably using Docker or other containerization approaches.
• At least 2 years of experience in modern software practices like kanban, agile methodologies, or similar.
• Proven ability to understand organizational and product requirements and translate them into technical system plans.
• Beneficial: Experience with Rust, Go, Elixir, C++, or other “systems” languages.
