The role of Blockchain Data Engineer involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database systems for managing blockchain data, including both on-chain and off-chain data.
Responsibilities include building and optimizing tools for extracting on-chain data from various blockchains, processing and transforming blockchain data, and ensuring data integrity and usability.
The engineer will also be responsible for regular database maintenance, integrating blockchain data with traditional data sources, and designing ETL pipelines for efficient data ingestion.
Performance tuning and optimization of blockchain data queries and storage are essential, along with deploying and managing blockchain databases on cloud platforms.
The role requires ensuring data security and compliance with privacy standards.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a deep understanding of blockchain ecosystems, including protocols like Ethereum, Solana, or Binance Smart Chain.
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent self-learning is required.
Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases is essential, along with experience in designing and optimizing blockchain-specific data models.
Proven ability to design ETL pipelines for blockchain data sources and experience with tools like Apache Airflow or custom Python scripts is necessary.
Strong skills in cleaning and maintaining blockchain data for analytical use, with the ability to apply statistical techniques to handle incomplete datasets.
Candidates should have advanced skills in Python for scripting and automation, as well as proficiency in deploying blockchain databases on cloud platforms.
Experience with Git for version control and debugging is essential, while familiarity with data warehousing and visualization tools is desirable.
