Description:
The Contract Senior Software Engineer (React & Node) position is a remote role based in the UK.
YLD is a software engineering and design consultancy with a mission to empower clients to become great technology companies.
The role involves working on digital transformation projects at FTSE-100 companies primarily using NodeJS and React.
As a Software Engineering Consultant at YLD, you will be expected to share your knowledge and experience with others.
You should have experience in front-end frameworks, particularly the React ecosystem, and an understanding of back-end architecture, scalability, and deployments.
The work environment is Agile (Scrum) with a test-first mindset, pair programming, and code reviews before release.
Technical competencies required include JavaScript, Node.js, Typescript, databases, continuous integration and delivery, testing, application security, RESTful web services, and performance monitoring.
Non-technical competencies include problem-solving skills, customer focus, communication skills, and maintaining YLD's brand reputation.
Fast availability is a plus for this role.
Requirements:
Experienced in JavaScript, including asynchronous programming, closures, and ES6.
Strong experience in Node.js and Typescript development.
Knowledge of databases (both relational and schema-less).
Focus on continuous integration and delivery, testing, and building high-performance applications.
Understanding of application security, authentication, cryptography, and RESTful web services.
Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and ability to handle debugging production issues.
Problem-solving skills, customer focus, and good communication skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic production environment and maintain YLD's brand reputation.
