Description:
Found is seeking a Data Engineer to join their full stack data organization, which includes data scientists, data engineers, and analysts.
The Data team is responsible for researching, training, and deploying machine learning models to detect and stop fraud in real time, as well as using data to inform product development.
The role involves scaling data infrastructure, optimizing data pipelines, and supporting decision-making across the organization.
The Data Engineer will design, build, and operate large scale data infrastructure systems to store and aggregate large amounts of data.
Responsibilities include building a data platform-as-a-service for internal customers, ensuring data integrity and discoverability, bridging the gap between engineering and analytics, and implementing ETL infrastructures for topline metrics and reporting.
Recent team accomplishments include deploying a new feature store that improved machine learning model training and deployment time by approximately 50%, optimizing batch and streaming jobs to reduce reporting latencies, and deploying models that monitor financial transactions in real time.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data infrastructure, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
Experience with relational databases such as Postgres/MySQL, dbt, and Airflow is required.
Applicants should have advocated for and rolled out new technologies or open-source frameworks that empower data-driven decisions.
Experience with cloud-native big data infrastructure on public cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure, BigQuery/Redshift/Synapse) is necessary.
The ability to write clean and maintainable code, primarily in Python, is essential.
Previous experience in the fintech space, startup environments, or knowledge of bookkeeping and taxes related to self-employment is a plus.
