The Data Engineer II will enhance the data infrastructure to support the company’s growth.
This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to design scalable, high-quality solutions that drive innovation and ensure seamless data integration.
Responsibilities include leading the creation of flexible data frameworks and translating business needs into technical solutions.
The position contributes to strengthening development processes and ensuring data security and governance.
The Data Engineer II will have a direct impact on the company’s ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt to business challenges.
This is a remote position.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in cloud (AWS), data warehousing, and Snowflake.
Experience with AWS architecture, development, security, and networking, including hands-on work with services like S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, CloudFormation, MWAA, Kinesis, and MSK is necessary.
Proficiency in Go, Python, Typescript, or similar programming languages is required.
Strong experience with data warehousing models (e.g., Kimball, Inman) and design fundamentals is essential.
Candidates should have a cloud-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Knowledge of data orchestration (Airflow, MWAA) and batch/stream processing platforms (Spark, Kafka, AWS Kinesis) is needed.
Familiarity with testing frameworks and TDD/BDD methodologies is preferred.
Strong data analysis and relational database skills, including advanced SQL and the ability to create complex queries and stored procedures, are required.
An in-depth understanding of data warehouse design principles, relational and dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT methods is necessary.
Understanding of trunk-based development and working knowledge of Snowflake and JSON is also required.
