As a Data Engineer, you will work across the entire stack, helping to shape the future architecture of the data system and collaborating closely with Web and Data Science teams.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining services, designing complex Spark jobs, and applying industry best practices in an Agile environment.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Commercial experience developing Spark Jobs using Scala is necessary.
Proficiency in Java and Scala is required, with Python being a nice-to-have.
Experience in data processing using traditional and distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, and AWS S3 is essential.
Candidates should have experience designing data models and data warehouses.
A strong understanding of data structures and algorithms is required for building efficient solutions.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL and Cassandra, is necessary.
Familiarity with messaging technologies like RabbitMQ and Kafka is required.
Experience using orchestration software such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt is preferred.
Candidates should be confident in building complex ETL workflows using tools like Luigi or Airflow.
Good knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP) and monitoring software (ELK stack) is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt solutions to complex challenges are essential.
