  • As a Data Engineer, you will work across the entire stack, helping to shape the future architecture of the data system and collaborating closely with Web and Data Science teams.
  • Responsibilities include building and maintaining services, designing complex Spark jobs, and applying industry best practices in an Agile environment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Commercial experience developing Spark Jobs using Scala is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Java and Scala is required, with Python being a nice-to-have.
  • Experience in data processing using traditional and distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, and AWS S3 is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience designing data models and data warehouses.
  • A strong understanding of data structures and algorithms is required for building efficient solutions.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL and Cassandra, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with messaging technologies like RabbitMQ and Kafka is required.
  • Experience using orchestration software such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt is preferred.
  • Candidates should be confident in building complex ETL workflows using tools like Luigi or Airflow.
  • Good knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP) and monitoring software (ELK stack) is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt solutions to complex challenges are essential.
