Description:

Factored is seeking an exceptionally talented Data Engineer to join their team in a remote capacity.
The role involves a wide range of responsibilities including data aggregation, scraping, validation, transformation, quality, and DevOps administration of both structured and unstructured datasets.
The ideal candidate will have experience in optimizing data architecture, building data pipelines, and wrangling data to meet the needs of algorithms and application functionality.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining ETL processes using Python, designing and optimizing large-scale data pipelines on Databricks, and writing efficient SQL queries.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions, as well as design and develop API integrations.
The role requires identifying bugs and performance issues, building scalable infrastructure using SQL and AWS big data technologies, and ensuring data security and compliance with international data handling rules.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3 - 5+ years of professional experience shipping high-quality, production-ready code.
A strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks, databases, and object-oriented programming is required.
Experience with Databricks, Python, and setting up data pipelines using relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, Cassandra, or MongoDB is essential.
Familiarity with cloud services for data infrastructure, including Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, and AWS is necessary.
Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow and big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka is preferred.
Candidates should have expertise with version control systems like Git and strong analytic skills for working with unstructured datasets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
