Description:
Turing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Scientist to join their team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and training of large language models (LLMs) focused on code understanding and multimodal data processing.
Key responsibilities include accurately labeling and annotating data related to coding tasks, such as identifying functions, variables, syntax, and code structure.
The role involves annotating multimodal datasets that include text, images, video, and other data types, ensuring that annotations are precise and consistent.
The candidate will collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to refine annotation guidelines and develop new annotation strategies.
Quality assurance is a key responsibility, including performing quality checks on annotated data to ensure high standards are met and providing feedback on annotation tools and processes.
The role also includes assisting in the development and testing of internal tools for data annotation and suggesting improvements to streamline workflows.
The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality annotated datasets, participating in regular meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
Requirements:
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and a solid understanding of coding concepts is required.
Experience with data annotation tools and platforms is necessary.
Familiarity with machine learning concepts, especially in relation to training large language models, is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand complex data structures are essential.
The ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies in data to ensure high-quality annotations is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with the ability to clearly document processes and provide feedback.
A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges is important.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science from a Tier 1/2 college or university is preferred, with distinction or first class in the degree.
