Description:
The Developer will join the Device Agent team at Kolide, responsible for collecting ground truth on Linux, Mac, and Windows devices.
The role involves working on Kolide's agent written in Go and contributing to osquery written in Objective C and C++.
Responsibilities include researching native APIs, automating OS package generation, improving agent's auto-update capability, and creating libraries for data conversion.
The Developer will work independently on projects but will receive assistance from team members as needed.
The position offers flexibility in managing time, with minimal weekly meetings for coordination.
The Developer will ensure the agents are good citizens on devices, easy to install and manage, and perform well.
Requirements:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of general software development or SRE experience.
Proficiency in Go is required, with additional work in C++ and Ruby.
Familiarity with osquery is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience with macOS, Windows, and Linux-based operating systems is necessary, specializing in at least one.
Knowledge of SQL, including concepts like CTEs, casting, and aggregations, is essential.
Strong writing skills to communicate effectively with less technical individuals.
