Description:

The position is for a DevOps Engineer at Sporty, a leading Sports Betting website with millions of active users across more than 20 countries.
The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the site and setting up new infrastructure for greenfield projects and geographic expansion.
Responsibilities include working with a team of DevOps and DBA professionals, improving existing infrastructure and processes, and streamlining deployments to new countries.
The engineer will holistically improve all aspects of the DevOps infrastructure, including reducing costs and lowering response times.
Monitoring and maintaining the existing cloud infrastructure via autoscaling and automated alerts is a key duty.
The role requires taking ownership of cloud operation activities and liaising with external security agencies for audits.
Mentoring less experienced team members is also part of the job.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of DevOps experience.
Experience in independently leading the planning and deployment of projects is required.
A solid understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS, is essential, including knowledge of utilizing cloud resources effectively.
A sound understanding of modern Micro Services and Service Mesh concepts is necessary.
Experience managing Kubernetes, including CI/CD with Kubernetes, is required.
Candidates should possess solid networking knowledge, particularly of the TCP/IP stack and HTTP protocol.
A strong understanding of caching mechanisms, including CDN and Redis/Memcached, is needed.
Excellent troubleshooting skills, particularly in diagnosing Linux OS issues and optimizing OS parameters, are essential; JVM optimization skills would be advantageous.
