Remote DevOps Engineer

Description:

• Beyond is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team, reporting to the VP of Engineering.
• The role involves building tools to enhance engineering team productivity and improving infrastructure to support business growth.
• Responsibilities include operating and supporting mission-critical services in a cloud environment, collaborating with engineering teams to implement effective processes and infrastructure, improving infrastructure tooling, and participating in long-term planning for infrastructure and process improvements.
• The ideal candidate should be innately curious, service-oriented, and a leader who takes initiative and ships projects quickly.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 2+ years of experience with one of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• A strong Linux background with at least 3 years of experience is required.
• Expert-level knowledge of Docker is essential.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, Golang, or others is necessary.
• Experience with a configuration management system (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is required.
• A proven track record with monitoring systems at scale is needed.
• Candidates should have experience mentoring others, including conducting code reviews.
• An understanding of how small changes can affect the entire network and the ability to see the big picture is important.
• Bonus points for knowledge of Hashicorp tools (Terraform, Consul, Vault), experience with Postgres and implementing CD at scale, and experience with orchestration tools (Nomad, Kubernetes, ECS).
