Description:
The position is for a DevOps Support Engineer at Octopus Deploy, a company that specializes in Continuous Delivery solutions.
This is a full-time remote role, requiring the candidate to be located in the Central Timezone of the USA.
Responsibilities include assisting customers with inquiries via email and Slack, building CI/CD pipelines to replicate customer issues, and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) to manage test environments.
The role involves creating resources such as documentation and blog posts to aid customers and the support team.
The engineer will participate in the design of new features and prioritize suggestions that reduce support impact.
The position also includes leading and growing the support capability as the business expands and contributing ideas for improving customer experience.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
Cloud experience with Google, AWS, or Azure is required.
Knowledge of Windows operating systems is necessary, and knowledge of *Nix operating systems is a bonus.
Familiarity with any programming language and database technology is a significant plus.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, including Kubernetes and ArgoCD, preferably in a production environment, is essential.
Proven experience in complex, integrated enterprise environments is required.
Strong communication skills are necessary, with examples of previous work such as blog posts or documentation.
Candidates should demonstrate empathy towards customers and take responsibility for resolving issues.
A curiosity for learning technology and experience in customer support for software or IT products is important.
The ability to work from home with a reliable broadband connection for videoconferencing is required.
Flexibility to work outside of business hours when necessary is expected, with an emphasis on maintaining work-life balance.
Benefits:
The compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $135,000 depending on the level, with additional stock options.
Participation in an on-call program may provide an extra 5% on top of the base salary.
