Description:

The Founding AI/ML Engineer will define and execute FreightHero’s technology strategy, focusing on building an AI-powered platform that revolutionizes freight brokerage operations.
This role involves working closely with the CEO to design and develop a proprietary solution that automates and optimizes back-office processes, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
The engineer will have the freedom to define the tech stack and build a team of experts in AI, full-stack engineering, and logistics technology.
Responsibilities include architecting and developing FreightHero’s AI-driven platform, leading AI-powered innovation, and building scalable systems for complex freight logistics data.
The engineer will own the full tech stack, select technologies, and ensure performance, security, and reliability.
The role requires recruiting and leading a high-performing engineering team, collaborating cross-functionally with the CEO and industry experts, and optimizing AI agent workflows.
The engineer will also develop APIs and integrations with third-party logistics platforms and stay updated on emerging AI advancements and industry trends.

Requirements:

Candidates must have entrepreneurial experience as a co-founder, founding engineer, or early-stage technical leader in a VC-backed startup.
Proven ability to take concepts from ideation to MVP and scale, particularly in AI-driven SaaS or automation-heavy platforms is required.
Strong experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, and AI-driven automation, focusing on optimizing operational efficiency is essential.
Expertise in building secure, scalable multi-user platforms that integrate with freight brokerage systems and industry APIs is necessary.
Knowledge of AI-powered decision-making and workflow automation to streamline freight brokerage operations is required.
Proven success in hiring, mentoring, and leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced startup environments is essential.
Experience designing robust, cloud-based architectures capable of handling large-scale logistics data and integrations is required.
Familiarity with freight, supply chain, and logistics technology is a plus, but a strong ability to learn and adapt quickly is essential.
Candidates must be open to working in LatAm.
