Nationwide IT Services is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to support the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Mission Area (WMA) Enterprise Technology Office (ETO).
The role involves developing, enhancing, and optimizing full-stack applications using modern open-source technologies.
Responsibilities include optimizing performance, scalability, and security for applications handling large datasets in PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
The developer will implement and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services for scalable applications.
Active participation in Agile Scrum processes and tracking progress using Jira is required.
Conducting peer code reviews and following Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies is essential.
The role involves working within CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins) to streamline deployment.
Implementing secure coding best practices to meet government security policies and compliance standards is necessary.
The developer will assess and mitigate vulnerabilities throughout the development lifecycle.
Maintaining clear and comprehensive developer documentation, including API and deployment guides, is expected.
Researching and implementing data-as-code technologies for automation and efficiency is part of the job.
Effective engagement in a remote team environment using MS Teams, Office 365, and SharePoint is required.
The position requires maintaining responsiveness and availability with a stable home-office setup.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required, along with 10+ years of development experience.
Strong expertise in Java, Python (PyTest), and Linux (Ubuntu VMs) is necessary.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Version Control (Git) is required.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (ScrumBan, Jira) is essential.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on performance optimization and security best practices are required.
