Remote Full Stack Engineer (Backend Focus)

Description:

• Kunai is a fast-growing digital consultancy focused on banking, payments, and fintech.
• The company has shipped over 150 products for clients including Visa, American Express, and Wells Fargo.
• As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will integrate with a major global banking client’s investment arm.
• You will champion best practices to build and enhance cutting-edge applications.
• Responsibilities include developing across the application stack, utilizing React for web applications, creating and maintaining backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, and deploying application components in a cloud environment (Azure).
• You will implement CI/CD tools/processes and drive TDD best practices.
• The role involves engaging with other engineers, designers, and product owners in a collaborative environment.

Requirements:

• You must have 4+ years of proven experience in building scalable full-stack applications with Java and JavaScript (React).
• A solid understanding of asynchronous JavaScript, data querying from various sources, and web services is required.
• You should have a keen eye for layout, semantic markup, and application performance.
• Proficiency in cloud services (Azure) and knowledge of CI/CD tools and best practices is necessary.
• Experience with data warehouse, visualization, and cloud platforms (Snowflake, Data Factory, Tableau, and Power BI) is expected.
• Strong ownership, a pragmatic approach, and a commitment to testing and learning are essential.
• You should be adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies.
• Prior enterprise-level or commercial software development experience is required.
• Financial services experience is strongly preferred.
