Description:
CareMessage is a technology non-profit focused on improving health equity for low-income populations in the United States.
The Full Stack Software Engineer II will work on medium-complexity problems independently, delivering impactful features for health equity.
Responsibilities include feature development and ownership, project breakdown, quality and testing, collaboration with cross-functional teams, automation and continuous improvement, operational support, and mentorship.
The role involves using a tech stack that includes Ruby on Rails, TypeScript/React, Postgres, and GCP.
The engineer will participate in on-call rotations to support platform reliability and help onboard new team members.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 2-3 years of experience as a full stack engineer, specifically with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript/React, Postgres, and GCP.
The ability to take medium complexity features from concept to production and collaborate effectively with Product and Design teams is essential.
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles is preferred, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, testable code is required.
Strong skills in breaking down complex problems, anticipating challenges, and delivering work on schedule are necessary.
Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a fully distributed environment.
Previous experience with on-call responsibilities and familiarity with incident management processes and tools like PagerDuty is a plus.
A commitment to CareMessage’s mission to improve health equity and an interest in the health tech sector are required.
