Description:

  • Join ABBYY as a Full Stack Associate Software Developer in a remote role based in Hungary.

  • Take ownership of the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of features and services from concept to delivery.
  • Ensure high code quality, performance, and maintainability by following best practices and conducting thorough code reviews, automated testing, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, to define and deliver features that meet business and technical objectives.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement within the codebase, infrastructure, and development process to increase team efficiency and code quality.
  • Monitor the health and performance of services and ensure timely resolution of issues and bugs.
  • Stay current with new technologies and trends to ensure the systems built are modern, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or fundamental sciences, or relevant experience and passion for software development.
  • Expertise in TypeScript, including advanced types and type-checking techniques, and understanding of the Node.js runtime and ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with tools and libraries such as React, Tailwind, Vitest, Node.js or Hono, MongoDB, Redis, Playwright, and pnpm/mono-repos.
  • Experience in designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming, including promises, async/await, and event-driven architecture.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha) and debugging tools.
  • Understanding of code linting, formatting, and adherence to best practices (e.g., ESLint, Prettier).
  • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues and optimize application performance.
  • Effective communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts to team members.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following best practices such as TDD, unit testing, and code reviews.
